Downtown Elopement full of Color

If you’ve ever dreamed of eloping in the city, rather than the mountains… you’re going to find inspiration in Nick & Kaylea’s vibrant elopement full of colorful florals, murals, and city views.

Many of us dream of an adventurous elopement off in the mountains, while others don’t see that as their dream. Nick & Kaylea felt that they had all they needed right here in Tulsa – a downtown booming with local shops, art, and a special venue to say I do. The Canopy Tulsa is located right at the heart of Tulsa’s Art District with 21 1/2 Boutique Hotel just next door as a getting ready space. Along with their immediate families, Nick & Kaylea added their final touches to the already stunning venue with vibrant flowers, a few rentals, and a small reception setup. The venue itself contained its very own variety of tropical plants, bistro chairs & tables, and plenty of sun falling in from the skylight.

The day started off raining, but as I arrived and went up to the hotel room to say hi to Kaylea – she was in such high, joyous spirits. Nothing rain can ruin. In fact – rain is gorgeous in photos & will create romantic results! Whether it was going to pass or not didn’t stop the positivity. As Kaylea’s mom & sister helped her get ready upstairs, Nick was next door at The Canopy putting on his own wedding attire. The couple opted for a first look – and had the chance to see each other before the ceremony. My heart wasn’t ready for Nick’s sweet reaction to seeing Kaylea – immediate shock at the beauty of his future wife. When I say that these two were an absolute joy to be around – oh do I mean it. There was not one moment where they weren’t in sync. Constant hugs, kisses, giggles, and happiness throughout the rest of the day.

Their short ceremony under the skylight, surrounded by vivid flowers and plants, with their closest family as witnesses was a reminder for everyone of what love looks like. Kaylea shed tears as they said their vows, and extended family joined through Zoom to experience the nuptials. What led after the first kiss was so many smiles, a small reception, and finally, plenty of time to roam around downtown Tulsa for just married photos!

Elopements are my specialty – I love my couples to feel treated throughout their experience, and one of the ways I do that is by offering my couples a small tour throughout the city. What does this mean? Carpool! I’ll take you to locations that fit your wedding style after the elopement while we listen to the playlist I specifically made just for you. And that’s what we did – Nick & Kaylea jumped into my Subaru & we ended the day in front of a rainbow mural at the center of downtown Tulsa. A celebratory way to finish off the last light of the day.
