Elope in Oklahoma at Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge

Are you looking for a place to elope in Oklahoma? You’ve found a winner here.

Overlooks, vast fields, wildflowers, mountains, lakes, giant boulders…the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge has got it all. With only a 3 hour drive from Tulsa & 1.5 hours from OKC, it’s a great place to elope if you’re feeling adventurous.

When planning your elopement at the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge, keep in mind that ceremonies of any kind are prohibited within the park, HOWEVER, that’s an easy fix if you’re flexible in choosing a location right outside of the park, such as Medicine Park. An alternative would be to sign your marriage license before or after the photos. Elopements don’t have to be traditional, and you can make it whatever you want it to be!

As your elopement approaches, you will need to apply for a photography permit. Your photographer should be able to do this for you, and the permit info can be found here. It is suggested by the management that you should contact the park at least three months in advance.

Since the park can be saturated with people on weekends, a weekday is highly recommended for your elopement. This will more than likely ensure that you can have a location all to yourself!
